Ragi Laddu Recipe
This recipe has Ragi Flour as a main ingredient. Traditionally Ragi as a cereal has been used in the regions of Andhra Pradesh and nearby areas however because of better transport systems and logistics, this ingredient is freely available for all health conscious people throughout the country. This is one savoury dish which leaves you feeling full while providing nutrition in abundance.
- Ragi Flour- 1 cup
- Jaggery – ½ cup
- Ghee – 1 1/2 tbsp
- Grated Coconut – ¼ cup
- Milk- ¼ cup
- Cashew nuts
- Almonds 4-5 pieces
- Cardamom powder – ¼ tsp
- Sesame seeds- 1 tsp
Heat ghee in a pan. Set flame to low. Add the nuts when the ghee becomes hot, fry till these turn to golden brown. Remove the nuts and keep aside. Add Ragi flour. Fry till you get the roasted aroma of ragi flour. Switch off the gas. Add dry coconut gratings, jiggery and cardamoms powder. Add milk and mix. Add nuts mix. Press the mixture down with the spatula. Cover the utensil. Leave the utensil on the gas for 3-4 minutes. Shape a small portion of the mixture into a ball. Roll the ball in a plate with the desiccated coconut powder.
